Double trouble!

Hi Again!

Bank holiday weekend means I am pushing forward with my ghurians and had another one done this afternoon! Two models in a day, TOTAL RECORD!!!!

Here he goes, along with a shot of the warband so far (hardly a warband yet, but getting there)

I feel like they are coming along nicely if I can say so myself. Maybe not my best work but certainly they are something different and personal, just as I wanted them!

Let me know

  1. These really are fantastic. You have upped the contrast a little compared to the previous warriors I feel, the shadows feel darker, perhaps the texture adds to this also.

  2. yes, you are quite right! I am still trying to get the most out of my iPhone camera, it's a trial and error process. With these ones I just upped the contrasts a little bit and increased the vividness of colours to make them look closer to how they look in real life... Still not perfect but better then before (I hope)

    1. I can recommend the Camera+ app for the iPhone, it let's you set a lot of options manually.

  3. Absolutely amazing!
(maybe the white skull on the base is a little bit too much: I think it distracts the eye from the model)

    1. Thanks! Very very true, I will try to tone it down with some darker washes :)

  4. Hot damn!

Another stunner. With bonus hidden shield design, now that you've changed the pictures! The skin tone on this guy looks great. I love the red wood too, something very old school Warhammer about it.

    1. Eheheh, glad you noticed the red of the weapon shafts. Yes it is a reference to the '90s when I started painting, it was all the fashion back then! I think for a tribe of tribal warriors works well although sometime I wondered if there is just too much red on these models, but I am generally happy about their look so I'll keep going like this.
You are right about the shield, I forgot to take a nice picture of the back of the model! Will add it on in the future.

  5. Lord have mercy... this leather is beyond anything I have seen in the past. How can you paint so realistically?
All the very best from a customer of yours in the past.
